Most Liked

The large portions are a standout, often leaving diners content and satisfied after just one meal. Menu highlights include the classic fish and chips and the praised steak and ale pie, with diners often raving about their flavors. The banoffee pie, available in regular or small sizes, comes highly recommended, especially for those with a sweet tooth. Customers appreciate the cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot for casual dining or even a post-work pint with friends.

Outdoor seating options are a plus, allowing guests to soak up the sun while enjoying their meals. The friendly and relaxed vibe creates a sense of community, drawing regulars and newcomers alike.

Most Disliked

While The Green Man scores highly on food and atmosphere, peak visiting times can lead to crowds and noise, particularly on Sundays. Some guests express concerns about the wait during busy periods, although the efficient staff usually handle it well. Dining space can feel a bit cramped during peak dinner hours, especially for larger groups, making reservations essential. Also, while the spacious car park is convenient, limited street parking can be challenging during busy times, especially for those arriving without a reservation.

For those seeking a quiet ambiance, lunchtime can be busy, making it a popular time for families.

We pulled into the large car park, greeted by friendly staff. The tables are a decent size, which is a rarity nowadays. The children had lasagne, I had fish and chips and my husband has a burger. Portions are large but very tasty! The puddings come in regular or small sizes, in future I would go small, the regular were huge. We would definitely go back here and highly recommend.

We went to the green man in Ringmer on Friday night. It was busy as usual but we managed to book a table for the 8 of us. As per usual the service and food was amazing. You get decent size portions for a very reasonable price. It’s one of our go to restaurants. Can never fault the place, always great food and service.

I have bee here many times after recommendations from many people. I have never left disappointed as the food is really lovely and portions are generous. It's nice and laid back and the staff are nice and chilled out. I always try and go at quiet times as I prefer it to be that way and take my dog with me. Service is quick and you order at the bar and just note your table number. The steak and ale pie is to die for and so is the banoffi pie.prices are amazing and the place is faultless. Great people running a great pub with great food.

Evening out for 6 adults, lots of parking spaces. Many choices on the menu, and a specials board too. Portions were big, and reasonably priced. The mixed grill and steak pie were especially good, as well as the honeycomb cheese. Would recommend a visit!

The Green Man at Ringmer is an incredible pub. The portions are always large and the food is always fantastic. The chicken and leek pie is a signature dish and is packed full of filling with creamy lump free mash and the veg is plentiful! The burgers come stacked piled high. The chips seem to have changed and are much improved. Fried really well! Service is good. Lots of people looking after you and they're all really friendly. Dogs are welcome in the bar area and outside. Toilets are always clean and tidy. Loads of free parking. Best to book a table for busy times as they get packed quickly.

We had an impromptu meal here at lunchtime today and despite being busy, the quality of the food and service was excellent. I had the steak and kidney pudding. It was cooked to perfection and was stuffed full of quality meat. The chips that I opted for were the best I've had in a long time. It came with veg and gravy. A generous portion. So much so that I had to forgo desert. I'm sure we'll be back soon.
